My name is Norman and I am a professional musician living in Hollywood with over 35 years of experience in teaching students how to improve their music composition and orchestration skills. I have worked on hundreds of blockbuster films including recent films: Rogue One, Jurassic World, and CoCo. I have a Doctorate in Composition, written ten books on music, and have taught in the UCLA Extension Film Scoring Program for over 15 years.

Class curriculum is custom designed to suit your specific requirements.

I teach self-paced private Skype lessons in:

Music Theory 1 and 2

-Orchestration-Basics to Advanced

• Instrumentation (how the instruments work)
• Orchestration (putting the instruments together)
• Notation issues
• Mockup problems
• Approaches to orchestration based on genre
• Score-Cue/Orchestration analysis
• Orchestration exercises

-Film Composition Lessons

• Your workflow and how to streamline it
• Notation issues
• Film Composer composition sketches
• Score-Cue analysis
• Development exercises
• Analyzing material together from my books
• Use of hexachords to become more chromatic
• How to develop your material
• Writing short cues or exercises based on templates
• Scoring to video

In addition to what is mentioned above, each lesson includes:
• Detailed look at your own music
• Looking at scores together and listening to tracks
• Going over material in my books
• Reviewing exercises from the previous lesson
• Discussion on the music business in LA and in general
• Examining pieces I have called "Common Problems in Mockups"

HOW TO USE

はじめての方でもかんたんに始められます
STEP 1

必要なのはインターネット環境だけ

*Google Meetとは？

MeeCooでは、Googleが提供するビデオ会議ツール「Google Meet」を使ってオンラインレッスンを行います。
アプリのインストールもGoogleアカウントも不要。インターネットにつながるパソコン・スマホ・タブレットがあれば、今すぐ始められます。
レッスン時間になったらボタンをクリックするだけで、すぐに先生とつながれます。


STEP 2

先生プロフィールから自分に合う先生を見つける

MeeCooでは、先生プロフィールからレッスン内容・料金・レビュー・対応言語など、さまざまな情報をご確認いただけます。
複数の先生を比較しながら、ご自身の目的やレベルに合った先生を探せるのが特徴です。
はじめての方でも、プロフィールを見ながら安心して先生選びを進められます。


STEP 3

無料生徒登録で先生とのやり取りをはじめる

気になる先生が見つかったら、まずは無料生徒登録。
生徒登録をすると、MeeCoo内で先生にメッセージを送ったり、そのまま予約に進むことができます。
レッスン日時や内容を確認しながら、安心して受講準備を進められます。

STEP 4

レッスン内容が決まったらMeeCoo上でお支払い

レッスン日時や内容が決まったら、MeeCoo上でお支払い手続きを行います。
レッスン料金はサイト内で使えるコインでお支払いいただく仕組みのため、オンラインでも安心してご利用いただけます。
コインはマイページからいつでもチャージ可能です。

※講師側からレッスン料金の請求が届く場合は、メール内または講師とのメッセージ画面上部の「コインを支払う」ボタンからお支払いいただけます。

コインのお支払いが完了すると、「Google Meet」ボタンが自動で発行され、生徒・講師の双方に共有されます。
ボタンは以下の3箇所からご確認いただけます。

  • 配信メール（件名：レッスンコインの支払完了【MeeCoo】）
  • 対象講師とのチャットページ上部
  • レッスン予定ページ

STEP 5

Google Meetでオンラインレッスンをスタート

※万一、レッスン料金（コイン）をお支払い後にオンラインレッスンが実施されなかった場合は、講師とのメッセージページ上部の「履歴」より返金申請を実施ください。
